---Raining Pain---

In the throes of pain,
Drenched in the sweet spring rain,
I came to see, by the reaper's grace,
That my life is ever a race.

To win is to feel the horrible pain,
While lying in the uncaring rain.
To lose is to forever die,
Never again to laugh, to cry.

I chose the path wrought with pain,
Laying there, soaked in the comforting rain.
I love it, I hate it, choosing the sadness,
The pain having brought me to the brink of madness.

I resist the strength of the searing pain,
Being cleansed in the beauty of the refreshing rain.
It gives my will the needed strength,
To grant my life a little length.

I overcame the debilitating pain,
Basking in the sensations of the envigorating rain.
Help arrives, and carries me away,
So that I may live another day.

Yeah. I know. Mediocrity to the extreme, huh?

Shaddup, I know about the contradiction there!

And btw, no I am not emo.

The background behind this poem is that the main character has been hit by a car, and is laying in the street, both of his legs broken. Shock has not yet set in, and thus he is experiencing the full power of the agony wrought by his mottled limbs.

I know of this sort of pain, as I once broke my left leg in a car accident. And let me tell you, for a minute there, when I tried to move my leg, it felt like my entire world had shattered, and I blacked out for several minutes.

In all of my life, that was the first, and as of yet, last time I have ever lost conciousness for any reason other than lack of sleep, against my will.

It is some heavy-duty industrial strength "OUCH!"

SHAMWOW!

Dear buddy, you know I sympathize all the way. (Except for the rain thing, seeing as rain burns my skin...)

*Rabbit: (to Eeyore) Well, if you're not going to cheer up, I have better things to do... gardening and cleaning and putting up curtains so Tigger can't see into my kitchen anymore. Good-bye.
*Piglet: I think Rabbit's a little cross
